Title of work - Seaponie
Acrylic/mixed media on canvas board.
16x20

How Shapers were used:
After the image was drawn onto the canvas a considerable amount of PVA glue was applied.

Using a large grey shaper (cup round size 10) the glue was moved around the image, guiding it carefully along the tail section, head and snout area.

Glue was then scooped up onto a shaper and allowed to drizzle off to make the fine main areas around the head and down the back.

Using the shaper for this part is far more simple than using a brush.

Unlike a brush, the shaper does not hang onto the PVA glue, so if you move it around the image stays where you place it, and its also great for the drizzling effect for the same reason - once finished the shaper was simply wiped clean.
